Once there lived a silkworm on a mulberry tree. The silkworm was known far and wide for its quality of silk. It produced beautiful fine quality silk which was admired by members of the royal family.
One day the Princess Lioness send a word for the silkworm. When the silkworm came she said, 'We admire you work and the quality silk you produce. We want you to produce twenty yards of silk. We shall use this silk for my wedding'.
The silkworm was elated to hear the princess. He said, 'O gracious princess, I am honored to receive your orders and it is to my pride that you will use the silk which I will weave for you in you wedding garment I promise to deliver your order soon as possible'.
The silkworm returned home enthusiastically and soon set on the task of weaving. He worked slowly and precisely to churn out the best of quality.
After sometime a spider who resided in the same tree came there. She was hasty and moved briskly. She wanted to hire a weaving room and asked the silkworm for it. The silkworm agreed, and the spider started webbing.
The spider was very quick. She soon completed weaving and sought silkworm's attention to her work, 'Look at my work. I did it in the nick of time. The web is so delicate and finely woven. Won't you acknowledge my weaving skills? Won't you say I an more dexterous than you are?'
The silkworm replied, 'Certainly you are quick. But I am busy, hush up please and let me work - my work takes more time and attention than yours. You work is more of trap for insects, and hence cobwebs are often dusted away as dirt. My work is treasured - members of royal family tender my work preciously. They adore themselves with my silk and store it. My work finds great value in market'.
Moral: True art requires hard work, thoughtfulness and perseverance. It is adorable and endures
