69. Aesop's Fables - Winter and Spring

One day, the winter mocked the spring and made fun of her.

The winter proudly said, 'Spring you bring so much unrest. People became weary as soon as you arrived. Some retreat to meadows, others venture into forests. They roam around to pick the variety of blossoms admire them, put them in vases or their hair. There is no fear of  floods or storms, and set sailing, rafting and traveling across the seas'.

The spring blinked hearing the winter and smiled.

The winter continued in the proud note, 'Perhaps, unlike you when I arrive I set to rule over the people. The chill in me forces them to gaze down, and they not see up the heavens. They are often compelled to confine to their homes in want of warmth and shelter.  I proud that I am able to rule the humans with such might'.

The spring smiled and replied, 'Sister winter. You should not be proud of yourself. You chill and tumour send the people in pain. That is why people do not welcome you and are happy when you recede. If you know, the humans are delighted when I am arriving. They are adore me and associate me with beauty and charm. They even relate my name to God Zeus. They enjoy in spring and keep those memories. When I disappear they recall the days spend merrily in the spring. I am happy fir the way the human feel about me'.

The winter was ashamed to hear what the spring said. But she continued to spread the wrath in her the winter season.
