Indian National Anthem (Jana Gana Mana)
The song Jana Gana Mana (meaning
the minds of all people) was originally written in Bengali by Nobel Laureate
Rabindranath Tagore. The song was first performed in 1911 at the Calcutta session of the
Indian National Congress. It was adopted as the National Anthem on 24 January
1950. The complete song consists of five stanzas and a formal performance of
the song takes fifty two seconds.

The National Song of India is the
'Vande Maatram'. It was composed by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee and first
appeared in his book ''Anandamatha''. The song has a mix of Sanskrit and
Bengali languages. The tune for this song was set by Jadunath Bhattacharya .
The song had become the national
cry for freedom during the freedom struggle of India .

The patriotic poem song ‘Saare
Jahan Se Achcha’ was composed by Sir Allama Muhammad Iqbal in 1904 in Urdu
language. It is also known as Tarane-e-Hindi (the Anthem of India). The poem is
written in praise of India
and preaches harmony between people of various religions and sects.
