There are legends, tales and beliefs associated with every Hindu Festival. People hold beliefs in these legends and their devotion towards God each time the festivals are celebrated. There is belief that God exits. We owe our existence and all creation to him. It is maintained that truth ultimately prevails over the evil. Through these festivals, we uphold our beliefs, we celebrate the presence of God and praise him through our devotion.
It is remarkable to see the instilling faith of millions of Hindus in the festival legends. Each year these legends are revived and passed to next generation. The incidences which are written to have occurred thousands of years ago are told, and retold.
