The Leap Escape

Once there lived a frog. He had another frog as his good friend. They played together under a vast tree and spend most of the time together. Their families lived nearby the forest pond.

One day it rained hard and there was water all around. The frog climbed up a low branch of tree and rested there until it stopped raining and the water receded.

When the rain stopped, the frogs became happy and they jumped off the branch of the tree. Soon they realized that they were stuck in a deep pit hidden under the tree leaves. The frog tried hard to escape, but failed to hop out. They croaked loudly seeking help of their families.

Hearing the panic cry, their comrades came down and peered down from the top. They saw that the pit was too deep and they were helpless. They croaked in sympathy, 'Friends, we are sorry. The pit is too deep for us to reach you. We cannot help you. There seems to be no way by which you can come out'.

The frog who heard this lost his heart and collapsed in fear and agony. While his friend, was deaf. He thought that the comrades were crocking to encourage him to leap out. He was emboldened thinking that the comrades were motivating him. He mustered all his strength and took a giant stride. In flash he was out of the pit, where the comrades cheered his return.
