Once there lived a washerman named
Vilasa. He had a donkey which carried load of clothes. Vilasa was merciless. He
made the donkey carry huge load of clothes and never gave him enough to eat. So
the donkey grew very weak.
The washerman was miser. He
covered the donkey in tiger skin and took it to the corn field for feeding it.
When the field owner saw the tiger
skin and ran away. He went back and told watchman and other people about it.
One day, the watchman carried bow
and arrow. He covered himself with grey blanket and took a hide near the field.
The washerman left his donkey
covered in the tiger's skin in the cornfield.
Over the days, the donkey had
become strong by eating the corn. One day, he saw a grey figure far in
cornfield and thought it was a female donkey.
It brayed loudly and dashed.
The watchman saw the donkey and
shot it with his arrow. The donkey died.
When the washerman saw it, he
repented for his wrongdoing.
Moral: Do not be miser and unkind.
Stealing and lying are bad deeds and lead to loss.
