91. Aesop Fables - The Charcoal-Burner and the Fuller

Once there was a charcoal burner who made charcoal for selling in its house.

One day his friend, fuller visited him. They sat down and talked for a long time.

When the fuller was about to leave, the charcoal burner said, ‘Friend we had a great time together. Don’t you think it would be great if we live together in this house? It would give both of us good company and we can share our housekeeping expenses as well’.

The fuller was however intelligent. He replied, ‘Friend, you company is great. However, as far living together is concerned, it is rather impossible, because whatever fabric I will whiten as a part of my work, you will immediately blacken it with your charcoal fumes’.

Moral understanding: Like attracts like.
