64. Aesop's Fables - Hercules and Pallas

One day Hercules was travelling to another country. On his way he came through a narrow passage. At the far end end of the passage, there stood a strange animal. The animal blocked his way and threatened him. But Hercules was bold and fearless, he fought against the beast and gave his blows with his club.

As Hercules used his force on him, the beast grew larger and more threatening. Hercules was surprised. He further fought with the beast and with more might. However  the beast turned more bigger and terrifying. Now, it occupied the entire road.

Just then, Pallas the God of warcraft appeared befobe Hercules and said, 'Hercule, you must stop fighting against this beast. This beast is a monster named Strife. It feeds on conflicts. Should you stop against him, the monster would return to its original form'.

Hercules was enlihhtened. He stopped fighting against the monster and bowed before Pallas. Pallas blessed him and disappeared. Then he bowed before Strife and said, 'I boe to your might. I thank you for teaching me this lesson. Let me go my way'.

The monster returned to its original form and let Hercules go its way.
