95. Aesop Fables - The Old Woman and the Wine

Once there lived an old woman. She was a widow and had no family. One day the woman went down the street to buy some bread. One her way to the baker’s shop, she found a bottle of wine lying on the roadside.

The woman was very happy to see it. She picked the empty bottle of wine and opened it. The bottle smelled of prime old wine. The old woman was elated to smell the old wine. She smelled it several times, saying ‘It is so pleasing to smell this old wine. I once enjoyed such wine in my youthful days. It would have been great if this bottle had some to satisfy my want. I wonder how luscious the wine would have been, when it leaves such scrumptious odor in this empty vessel’.

The old woman finally kept the bottle of old wine in her shoulder bag and walked away observed in thoughts of past when she enjoyed wine with her family.

Moral The memory of good and old deed never die. They relive to enliven us.
