When the lion returned, he found the food was eaten. He roared in anger and asked the fox, 'The donkey's brain is missing. Tell me who ate this before me?'
The fox was terrified. She was however very cunning and replied in a timid and assuring voice, 'My Majesty! No one can dare touch your food without your permission. The brain is missing because the donkey had no brain! If he had brain, he would have never come to you for alliance'.
The lion laughed and started enjoying his meal.
