Once there lived a beautiful stork near the side of a river in a forest. One day, a fox came to drink water from the river.
While it drank, it heard the melodious voice of stork who was singing. Her sweet voice echoed across the forest. The fox stood by the river and watched the beautiful bird sing.
When the stork stopped singing, the fox called her and said, 'O beautiful bird. You sing so melodiously. You are a real charmer. I adore you. Be my friend'.
The stork smiled and replied, 'Thank you fox for appreciation. I will surely be your friend'.
So the fox and the stork became good friends. They often met by the riverside. They shared their food and played. The stork often sang to please her friend.
One day the fox said, 'Friend, we met on this day, one year back. Let's celebrate this day. I invite you to have dinner at my home in woods today night'.
The stork gracefully agreed.
The fox prepared a grand dinner. She got expensive dishes to serve the meal. She remembered that the stork had a long beak, but for funsake she removed all tall dishes.
When the stork came, the fox served her soup in a swallow plate like dish. The stork was unable to drink the soup. Then the fox served jellies, porridge and other foods alike in the swallow plate. The stork was unable to eat, while the fox watched mockingly and laughed back.
The stork left the table hungry. She politely thanked the fox and returned to her home.
The fox said, 'Friend, I prepared so much food, but I think you liked none of it. I am so sorry'.
The stork replied, 'No friend! I ate enjoyed the meal very much. I ate to my heart's content and thank you so such for the lovely dinner'.
The fox laughed back.
After some days the stork met the fox when the later came to the riverside. The stork said, 'Friend, the rains have been good this year. There is plently of fish around. Come home today, we shall have a grand meal togerher'.
The fox agreed.
The stork arranged for the dinner. She kept all food in narrow necked vessels. The fish was broken and filled in the tall dishes.
The fox arrived for dinner and together they sat for the it. The stork served all food in a tall narrow vessels. She inserted her bill into the flasks and heartily enjoyed the food. While the fox kept leaping around the fasks smelling the food. He could get only some taste of the food from the spillovers.
After the stork finished the meal, she politely asked the fix to have more food.
The fox refused and realized her mistake. She left wordlessly from the stork's home.
Next day, the fox came to the stork and apologized to her, recalling what she did to the stork was wrong.
