Labby the lamb lived on a grassland.
He was very lean and skinny. He ate only scantily and slept all day long while his other friends gazed grass and played around.
One day, the Mother Sheep told Labby, "Soon the winters will come. If you do not eat well, you wool will not grow and you will suffer in winters".
Labby nodded and ignored his mother. He continued ignoring food.
Days passed by and winters came by. The weather grew very frosty and bitter. The grass was covered with snow and the sheep had little or nothing to eat. They gathered in a herd and decided to move in a hiding to protect themselves. But Labby was too weak to move. His mother cried, wondering how he would survive the conditions.
Soon all the sleep in herd gathered around Labby and covered him up. The younger sleep formed the inner circle and the older ones covered them over. The herd kept close together all night long until the morning sun came and melted away the snow.
Labby thanked all his friends and proused his mother to eat well thereafter.
