The Goose That Laid Golden Eggs
Once there lived a man with his wife. They had a huge farm on which they reared hens and other farm animals.
One day when the man was collecting the eggs, he saw that a hen had laid a golden egg. The man took the golden egg to his wife and showed her the goose that hatched it. They were very happy to receive the golden egg.
The hen laid a golden egg everyday. Soon the man had many golden eggs. He thought of collecting more golden eggs and became greedy.
The man thought that if the hen can lay a golden egg everyday, its inside must be full of eggs. So he decided to kill the hen and obtain all eggs from it.
He went and killed the hen. However, he did not find any egg inside the hen. The hen was dead and after that he received no golden egg from the hen.
Moral : Do not be greedy.
