The Poor Friends

In a city there lived two boys named Sam and Truce. The boys lived in the city slum. They were poor and underprivileged. So they work to earn a living.

The boys did odd works such as sweeping, cleaning, housekeeping; on petty day wages.

One morning when the boys were sweeping the streets, Sam found an apple lying on the road. He asked his friend Truce, 'Truce, what will you today?'

Truce replied with an expression of pity, 'If the contractor gives us wage, I will buy food. I have no money as of now. So I cannot decide what I will eat today'.

Sam loved Truce. He gave the apple to Truce and said, 'Here is an apple for you. Do not remain hungry, you are weak and work for do many hours'.

But Truce was equally concerned about Sam and he refused to the apple. So Sam said, 'Take a bit from it'. When Truce took a bit, Sam repeated. 'Take one more bit'. He continued until Truce realized that the apple was finished.

Truce thanked Sam for his concern and love. Tears rolled down his eyes and he hugged Sam. Their friendship became more strong and they remained friends forever.
