The Leap

One day two bunnies were playing in the forest besides their burrow. While playing one of them ran a little far. His younger brother followed him in playful excitement.

Suddenly the elder sibling fell into a deep pit which was overlaid with dry leaves and twigs. The younger bunny who came chasing his brother also fell into the pit in haste. The bunny brothers were now trapped. They attempted to jump out and escape, but could not hop out.

The younger bunny told his brother, "Bunny brother, let take a leap. I am hopeful we can escape this trap". But the elder bunny was deaf. He saw his younger brother trying hard to jump high and escape from the pit and followed him by seeing. But they could not even reach the periphery of the pit and fell back in head. They felt helpless and cried in fear and anguish.

The cries of bunny brothers echoed across the woods. Hearing their cry, the comrades of their group gathered and went ahead to see the problem. They peered in the hole and then talked among themselves. The bunny brothers eagerly awaited their help. But the comrades said in a sympathetic tone, "Little bunnies, you have to pay for your haste and uncontrolled behaviour. We are sorry to say, but the pit is too deep for us to reach. We are sorry...". Saying this the comrades turned their backs to return.

Suddenly the comrades were started by a loud thud. They were surprised to see the elder bunny who was deaf, had escaped from the pit    by a strong inner push. They appreciated the elder bunny brother and went back to see the younger bunny. However, the younger bunny brother had collapsed in fear, after he heard the comrades saying that it was not possible for them to make their way out.

The elder bunny who was deaf explanied, " Dear commorates, I was emboldened when I saw you all. I thought you all were encouraging us to take a leap. Thinking this I mustered all my energy to take a plunge. I am thankful to you that you motivated us".

Hearing the elder bunny brothers, the commorates realized their mistake. They understood how important it is to support some one who is in trouble.

The story teaches us that small words of motivation can make big difference in attitude and achievements.
