154. Aesop Fable - The Bramble & Fig Tree

One day, the fir tree and bramble were talking to each other.

The fir tree which stood tall and rigid, arrogantly said, 'I have so many economic advantages. I am used in roofs, woodcrafts, and variously in homes. You are just a hapless existence'.

The bramble was humble. He said, 'O mighty fig! If you recall the spades, saws and axes which tear you apart, you would wish to be a bramble and pity being a for tree, which dies before its time due to human wants'

Moral: Every one has strengths and weaknesses. Never be proud of your strengths as they comes as a disadvantage in guise.
