108. Aesop's Fables - The Bear and Two Travelers

Once there lived two boys in a village. They were very good friends,

One day they decided to travel to the other side of the mountain through the forest. So they onset on their journey to the other side.

While they were passing through the forest, a huge bear came in their way. The boys were terrified to the bear. One of the boys ran towards a tree nearby and quickly climbed up. The other boy didn't know how to climb the tree. He knew if he ran, the bear would catch and tear him apart. So he fell flat on the ground. When the bear came sniffing around him, he held his breadth firmly and appeared dead.  The bear thought it was a corpse and did not attempted to eat it. It soon disappeared in the forest.

The boy who was hiding in the tree above came down and told his friend, 'The bear is gone. Lets go away fast as we can'.

The boy woke and said, 'Yes, we should go. But would you like to know what the bear whispered in my ear?'

The other boy nodded and said, 'sure!'

The boy replied, 'The bear gave me a word of advise. He said I should travel and keep a true friend. A true friend is one who will not leave his friend in time of adversity'.

Moral: A friend in need is friend indeed.
