14. Aesop's Fables - The Fisher

Once there lived a man who was very fond of fishing. He often went to the pond on the village outskirts for fishing.

One day, when the went for the fishing spot. He spend his entire sitting by the pondside in hope of roping in fish, but no fish was caught. He returned home empty handed.

Next day the fisher thought of a plan to attract the fish. He took his large bagpipes and played upon them hoping that the fish might get attracted to the sound and come near the water surface.

But the fisher was disappointed as no fishes surfaced. So he sided with the bagpipes and went fishing with a large net. Soon many fishes were caught and the fisher came back happily. He kept the net with fish near the bank and started playing his bagpipes again. As he played he saw the fish leaping.

The fisher thought that the fishes leapt on the sound of bagpipes. But soon the fishes were completely out of their breadth and stopped leaping, while the fisher continued playing his bagpipes.

Moral: When in other man's power, one must do as he bids.
