25. Aesop's Fables -The Wolf in Sheep's Clothing

Once there lived a wolf in a forest. Near the forest, there were mountains. The mountain slopes had lush green grass. There was a village at the foot of the mountains.

The shepherd boys from the village often took their sleep to the mountains slopes for gazing.

One day a wolf who had been searching for food, came roaming around the mountain slopes. The wolf saw a herd of sleep gazing. While the sleep gazed, the shepherd and his dogs kept a watch over them. So the wolf was unable to prey upon any of the sleeps.

Days went by, but the wolf kept an eye on the sheep everyday.

One day the wolf quietly followed the sheep down the mountain to their stable. He slept there during the night, but feared that humans might kill him if was seen. So went behind the row of houses to hide himself. There the wolf found a skin of a sleep.

The wolf covered himself with the sheep's skin   and waited for the herd to arrive. When the sheep came, the wolf joined the herd. Soon a lamb came to it, thinking of him as his mother. The wolf took the lamb aside from the flock and killed it.

Days passed and the wolf kept hunting the sleep under the skin.

One day the weather went bad. Strong winds blew and it poured. The skin was wet and the fox shivered. He took off the skin, exposing his real identity. Seeing this, the herdsman ran to kill the wolf.

The wolf tried running away for life, but the herdsman dogs caught and tore him apart.
